 Elaboration of an interim evaluation of the implementation of the Municipal Plan for development of Sozopol Municipality and its update until the end of the planning period (2013)’
 The general objective of this project is to increase the volume of attracted direct foreign investment and the economic effect thereof, as well as to improve the business environment in Bulgaria for making investment decisions.
 The updated plan for development of Svishtov Municipality is conformed to all national strategic and planning elaborations having regard to the development of this municipality, as well as to the regulations of the European Union (EU) concerning the structural funds and the Cohesion Fund. Several consultations with the interested parties were held in the process of elaborating the plan for Svishtov Municipality – municipal councilors, representatives of the business, non-governmental organizations. Workshops were organized to identify the external and internal factors for the needs of SWOT analysis, as well as to specify the vision and priorities of development the aim being to take into account the public interest in the plan and to ensure public support in its implementation.
 Making provision for all priorities and measures that are consistent with the EU policies for social-economic cohesion and the regulations of the Structural Funds. This is a precondition for the financial security of envisaged priorities and measures through the European funds. Application of an approach of integration and coherence between the individual sector directions in the development of this municipality and its territory, this being a guarantee for the achievement of an effect of synergy and equilibrium; combining and supplementing the individual measures in view of achieving integrated packages affecting infrastructural, human, innovation and nature-cultural potential of the municipality; taking into account of the objectives and priorities of the main planning and strategic documents of the country for the period until 2013.
 This project is a continuation of the ‘DONAUREGIONEN’ project completed by the NAMRB during the period 2006-2008 and financed under programme Interreg IIIC. The project was implemented in the territory of 40 NUTS3 regions by a total of eight countries: Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and the Ukraine. Eight regions from Bulgaria’s territory are included (NUTS3): Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Turnovo, Ruse, Razgrad and Silistra. The ‘Bridges’ OCA Company Consortium provided consultancy services for the working out of transregional strategies for the development of five transDanubian regions/zones between Bulgaria and Romania.
The update of Veliko Turnovo MDP was developed on the basis of the requirements for volume and contents of RDA (2008) and in conformity with the results from the detailed interim evaluation, which took into account the changes occurred over the period from drafting the plan in 2005 until end of 2010, as well as in the socioeconomic development of the municipality and in the sphere of statutory-legal system and integration of Bulgaria in the EU. The update of this plan was realized with the clear understanding about its role of a basic strategic document that determines the medium-term targets and priorities of the municipal development policy. The plan was elaborated fully in line with the targets and priorities of planning documents from the higher levels, such as the National Strategy of regional development, the Plan for development of the Northern central region ad the regional development strategy for Veliko Turnovo.
 Proceeding from the all-European context the Integrated Plan of urban reconstruction and development of Dobrich is the key to the future success of the municipality in attracting European and national financing, as well as of private investment during the next few years. The IPURD for Dobrich was considered as a link between the system of socioeconomic planning and that of structure planning. The plan incorporates the characteristic peculiarities of strategic planning and territorial structuring as a specific tool containing structuring plans and financial programmes at one and the same time.

As regards its coordination, within the context of absence of a national policy of urban reconstruction and development IPURD for the city of Plovdiv takes into consideration mainly the forecasts and ideas embedded in the package of planning documents of the municipality.
